After the huge success of our Mushroom Forages in Autumn and Truffle Hunts in Winter we have decided that 2020 is the year to start our Spring Foraging Weekend Sessions.

Become a skilled forager in our Wild Green Workshop down in Kangaroo Valley this Oct and November.

Experience first-hand how to find, harvest, prepare, infuse and flavour with the wild food finds and some favourites you can grow at home. Starting on Saturday 17 October we will be running these workshops most weekends until summer.

Off Grid Collection  - Canoes, Champagne & Canapés


This self-drive experience begins in Kangaroo Valley and is the perfect combination of food, wine and wilderness. Travis Frenay, our guide from Paddle & Portage Canoes, has joined two canoes together to create a floating raft that is easy to manoeuvre and unsinkable for every level of paddler. You will glide downstream on the Kangaroo River from Beehive Point to the mouth of Yarrunga Creek with the backdrop of the Morton National Park. Immerse your senses in the sheer beauty of this magical waterway with its ancient sunken forest and indulge your taste buds with wild native canapés and a local award-winning cold-climate wine.

3 Hour Scheduled Tours on Sat 17 and Sun 18 Oct 2020 are $195 pp.

Off Grid Collection - Highland Valley Forage 


This is a unique event on Saturday 24 October 2020 that tells the story, through food and wine, of how the Southern Highlands, Shoalhaven and Coast South of Sydney are connected.

We have partnered with local gastronomic favourites – Kangaroo Valley local Nick Gardiner from Hampden Deli and Highland favourites, the team at Birch to offer an 8 or 10 course degustation lunch over 4.5km or 9km. This is only offered one weekend a year and showcases all our local wine makers, suppliers and farmers.

Experience the best of this region in a leisurely, long, flat, easy walking food and wine trail through regenerating escarpment bush and blooming spring wildflowers in Morton National Park in Kangaroo Valley.

Mushroom Forages -April & May


Your day starts as we embark on fresh Mushroom Hunt with Highland local forager Joanne who runs an outdoor laboratory, growing a large variety of edible flowers, fruits, vegetables, herbs and edible ‘weeds’. Ravenous and eager to try your harvest,  we pan fry our fungi with butter and salt until they perfectly caramelised and serve with fresh locally made sour dough and piping hot coffee. We can also taste a few local cool climate wines as well with our partners Centennial Vineyard, Tertini Wines and Cherry Tree Hill Wines 

Half Day Scheduled Tours are $95 per person. 

Bookings for 2021 are open with gift certificates are available for tours in April & May 2021.

Truffle Hunts with Lunch - June to August


During June, July & the first half of August, Wild Food Adventures offers the opportunity to visit a local Truffle farm in Big Hill for an exclusive experience. Upon arrival we start with light refreshments and an information session on these coveted French Black Perigold Truffles before we head into the Iles and Robur Oak trees to watch our truffle dog follow the mystical aroma of these tubular delights and unearth them from the tree roots. We finish our visit with a 3 course lunch in the ruins of an old farmstead where you get to sample these treasures with matched local wines. 

Half Day Hunts with 3 Course Lunch are $175 per person. These will go on sale in February 2021.
